AUTUMN – Poetry to Welcome the Spirit of Fall & Seasonal Change

FROM THE LAMPLIGHTER CHAPTERS

AUTUMN

I thought I heard her coming, yesterday.

Tickling the leaves.
Shaking the laden fruit trees,
Blowing grey clouds into spun sugar wisps.
Her work already begun.

This morning there’s a chill about me.
The suggestion of an extra blanket.
Clothes airers and knitting.
And i know she’s here.

Busy working.
