What to do you when you must rest?
Rest.
Acknowledge the ebbing feeling and allow it. Push guilt aside and ignore any sneaky voices trying to worm their way in.
If it takes a day, it takes a day. If it takes a week or longer, so be it. Return you will.

In the meantime, strew a little, watch a lot. Talk, snuggle. Bring out old games and toys. Turn on the TV and just let it play.
Lie on the couch or bed and let them bring the outside in, the downstairs up or visa versa!!

Leave out snacks. Let them be a little bit messy! Let them get wet, rake your hair back, paint your nails or sit aside you on their tablets or with their treasures.
Most importantly, tell them what you’re doing. Explain you need to recharge and why it’s important. How it will help you to be a better homeschool mum.
Model self care not burnout!
