We’ve begun to wake up from the “Slow.”
We’re still in the middle of winter but we are starting to find our rhythm and flow again. No one is rushing however we are doing a little bit more, discovering new things.
We’ve watched a film about Mikkelsen and Iverson in the Arctic. We’ve watched David Attenborough documentaries about the Arctic and Antarctic.
We’ve enjoyed sketching pictures from books that have told us about polar bears, penguins, narwhals, Woolley bear moths, wolves and killer whales.

We’ve played games and baked cookies. Played keyboard and cleaned the trampoline. There has been walking and talking and scouting and snuggling in my bed. Watching anime cartoons and sports club.
Online lessons have started again as my oldest girl at home inches closer towards her first exam in the summer.

I put the Christmas Tree down and it struck me that “here we are again” and I felt thankful to be able to do it and hopeful to be able to continue to set up and put away Christmas time for many, many more years yet.

Today would have been my Daddy’s 78th birthday and its the second I’ve spent without him. I miss him very much. The forty odd years I had his hand to hold were never enough but how fortunate was I to have had that many winters with him? I’d say, very!

I miss helping him put up and take down his Christmas tree and taking him to the seaside as a treat. I used to take him for breakfast and last year I went on my own. This year I had the pleasure of taking my fathers brother instead and so a new tradition begins.
