There is no “behind” in home education. There is no one to be behind for a start! Just as it would be quite ridiculous to try to compare apples to oranges it is just so, comparing school to learning at home. All fruits, all children but totally different.

The school model is recognised and acknowledged by the majority, as being very out of touch and without the child’s best interests as a unique individual, at heart. More about business, data and league tables than much else. How many adults are desperately searching for simplicity, today?

Schools are a way of teaching lots of children the same things at the same time. They deliver as much as they can in the time that they have but yes, in schools some children are left behind.
For the masses they say “We all learn this way.”

It’s kind of like using an outdated map to get somewhere when you know there is a newer version available. A version that allows for extra browsing time, or questions that aren’t in the test.

Home educating let’s us take a different path. To use a new map designed just for you. One that sees you learning and growing every day at your own pace and not just because you are “of school age.” Knowing that learning is a life long journey where being ahead or behind is irrelevant and insignificant. What’s much more worth cherishing is the opportunity you’ve had to discover the world at your own pace. Not the pace someone else set.

A home education is the unique opportunity to be alive in the world in your own time. To learn things that are seldom taught in schools.

There is no behind in home education. Simply, you are exactly where you are meant to be. Unhurried, unpressured, and unfolding naturally, just as you should.
