Real life learning happens in sporadic, choppy bursts. An idea or interest builds steadily and is discovered time and time again. Passion and knowledge take time and can be revisited and indulged in between anything and everything else that life gives us to play with and wonder at.

Learning is not confined to boxes, unit studies, subjects, ages limits or desks. It can go on and on forever, it can be interesting, interactive and interrupted!
A film when Ashleigh was small gave her an interest in English monarchs. It gave her names and faces and folklore and legend.
A book a few years ago gave her some facts about a battle in 1066 and a Great Charter in 1215.

Stories were told, pictures were drawn, life carried on.
A book chapter a few weeks ago added the Crusades, more about Richard and introduced Blondin.
Blondin gave an interest in restringing a guitar for one who is left handed and practice began.

Another week another chapter and now gothic architecture. Stained glass window Diamond Art ensued.
A chat about the significance of the Magna Carta led to a new fact about John on the weekend.
Rain today kept Dad from work but not us all from Lincoln where we put pieces together with a visit to Lincoln Cathedral and castle. Gothic architecture, stained glass windows, William the Conqueror, Richard, John and the Magna Carta.
Victorian prison to boot!
